What does Automatic Enrolment mean for Employers & Staff?

From 1^st October 2012 the largest of UK employers were legally bound to automatically enrol, eligible staff, into a Qualifying Workplace Pension Scheme (QWPS). This can either be via an existing Group Pension Scheme or Occupational Pension Scheme (providing it meets certain criteria) or a completely new one.
